2021 Palestine-Wales Editathon
- سيعقد البرنامج خلال شهر أغسطس 2021
- Bydd y gystadleuaeth ar agor drwy Awst 2021
- The Programme will be held throughout August 2021
The Palestine-Wales Cultural Exchange Program is a content exchange program between Wikimedians of the Levant and the Welsh Community (both Welsh and English languages). It is a part of the content exchange program between Arabic/Welsh/English speakers and English/Welsh/Arabic speakers. With this program, Wikipedians from both communities will exchange the most important articles from their respective languages and translate them in their own as a token of friendship. This will contribute in reducing the cultural as well as content gap and strengthen the bond between the State of Palestine and Wales, both Levantine and Welsh communities.
Please note that Wikimedians of Levant/Palestine will translate from English to Arabic (Welsh Content) and Welsh Wikimedians will translate from English to Welsh (Arabic Content) and non-Welsh speakers will develop English articles on Palestine to express Arabic culture in Welsh and English. NB 'Welsh' can refer to both the country of Wales, or the language, depending on context. The Program will focus only on the historical places, food, women and events in both nations.

STOP PRESS! Kernewek / Cornish
editDydh da! Cornish and Welsh are sister languages, both Celtic. The Cornish language was revived from near language-death just over 100 years ago! Although the number of speakers is growing, it remains a critically endangered language, but we are very proud that Cornish is the spoken language at the top of [table for wikipedia pages per speaker]. Cornish editors will now join the editathon and translate articles about Palestine into Cornish! We do have a short list of possible articles about Kernow (Cornwall) which could possibly be translated into Arabic, which will be added here. Please note the two extra columns to the 'New articles in Welsh + Cornish' table which will list which articles have been translated into Cornish. Some of the articles will be under 3,000 bytes. Long live Palestine, Cornwall and Wales!
