What region(s) of the world do you have experience with, and what kind of experience do you have? (“Experience” can mean you have lived or worked there or are currently living or working there; you’re familiar with the culture and language; etc.) I have experience with the East Asia and ESEAP Region, Working with many people in the region has been a great way to connect the Korean and regional communities. Also interacted with the region by volunteering organizing local and regional level conferences, hosting collaboration events and promoting Movement strategy initiatives such as UCoC into ESEAP community.
What Wikimedia project(s) do you actively edit? And in what language(s)? I actively editing in Korean Wikipedia, while also having administrator rights in Wikidata.
What affiliate(s) are you actively involved with? In what capacity are you involved? Do you serve in a leadership role or have you in the past? Wikimedia Korea, currently serving as board member and working as project manager. As affiliate member, I actively engaged many wikimedia outreaches such as editathon and educational activities such as interacting with local teachers, and youth.
Have you served on any committees (movement-related or otherwise)? And what was your role on the committee(s)? Yes, I perviously served as member of U4C building commitee.
Please describe any experience you have with conflict resolution and/or consensus building. As active community member administrator of the Korean Wikipedia, I continuously having a responsibility of moderating and resolve the conflict between community members, also having experiences with facilitating local and global community for the consensus building.
In your ideal world, what does the affiliate model and ecosystem look like? Affiliate organizations are the fine blood vessels of the Wikimedia movement; Becoming connecting point from the local wikimedians to actively engaging each other, and connecting to the global (and wider) movement to achieve one big main goal "Wikimedia as the big free knowledge ecosystem"
In your ideal world, what are AffCom’s roles and responsibilities in relation to the movement and affiliates? AffCom serves to help, support, and embrace the many people who want to make a difference in humanity with free knowledge. In order to support those who wish to pursue their passions, our committee must fulfill its mission with a great deal of responsibility.
What role within AffCom are you most interested in: advisory or voting member? While I am interested to be part of any roles, but more interesting in voting member.
