Am always doing my best to contribute towards increasing the content on Igala Wiki and also engaging the community members for Igala Wiki to grow actively. | |

Do you serve in a leadership role or have you in the past? | I am a committee member of the Events and Calendar Committee at Igbo Wikimedia User Group. I help to organize and plan various activities. I also founded the Igala Wikimedia Community, leading contributors and building up Igala language presence across Wikimedia projects.. | |

I am a member of the Production Committee for the Africa Baraza Working Group, I serve on the Events and Calendar Committee for the Igbo Wikimedia User Group, I also serve on the board of Women Do News https://womendonews.org/about-womendonews/, whose objective is to bridge the Wikipedia gap in the cases of female journalists. I am the head and project organiser of Igala Wikimedia Community, leading the activity for contributor engagement and Igala language promotion.. | |
Please describe any experience you have with conflict resolution and/or consensus building. | I have significant experience in conflict resolution and building consensus, especially from the different roles I have played in various Wikimedia projects. A leader, project coordinator for Igala Wikimedia Community; I have been facilitating discussions between contributors and also executives of the community and ensuring that different opinions are respected, as we work towards common interests. I am also a member of the Igbo Wikimedia User Group's Events and Calendar Committee, through which I have mediated and aligned the varying ideas that pop up to make quality event plans. All these experiences have increased my skills in listening, empathizing, and finding solutions that accommodate everyone's interests while achieving our mission. | |
In your ideal world, what does the affiliate model and ecosystem look like? | Affiliate model and ecosystem are centered around inclusivity, collaboration, and sustainability. Affiliates would have strong networks with open communication, sharing resources and best practices to support each other’s growth. Each affiliate would be empowered to address local needs while contributing to global initiatives, ensuring the Wikimedia movement reflects the diversity of cultures and languages worldwide. Robust capacity-building programs and equitable funding opportunities would enable all affiliates, regardless of region, to thrive and achieve lasting impact in their respective communities | |
In your ideal world, what are AffCom’s roles and responsibilities in relation to the movement and affiliates? | In my ideal world, AffCom plays a key role as a facilitator and supporter of affiliates within the Wikimedia movement. They would guide new and existing affiliates, helping them grow by providing resources, mentorship, and strategic advice. AffCom serve as a bridge between affiliates and the wider Wikimedia Foundation, ensuring that the voices of local communities are heard and respected in global decision-making. They would also be responsible for approving new affiliates, provided they meet the necessary conditions that align with the movement's principles. Additionally, AffCom would work to create a transparent, fair, and efficient process for recognizing and supporting affiliatess. | |
What role within AffCom are you most interested in: advisory or voting member? | I would like to apply for advisory role within AffCom. In this capacity, I can contribute my insights and experience to help guide the committee's work, while also learning more about the strategic decisions. |
