Ukraine report: WikiGap 2018, article contest for libraries, Scandinavian Spring and Wiki Loves the Olympics

editUkrainian Wikipedians took part in WikiGap initiative during March 17 and 18: Вікіпедія:WikiGap 2018 — Україна. We held an offline event in Kyiv and invited people to contribute online. Our partners in organising an offline event were Embassy of Sweden in Kyiv and Mohyla School of Journalism (NaUKMA). 85 articles were created[refs 1], 2 improved[refs 2]. 45 participants took part[refs 1].

Ukraine report: Local Cultural Heritage and Notable People article contest for libraries
editWikimedia Ukraine, Ukrainian Library Association and Junior section of Ukrainian Library Association has organised an article contest among libraries, librarians and readers and information seekers during March 19 - 25. Around 277 articles were created or improved. Libraries from 45 cities and towns took part. We have also organised wikitrainings in advance for those, who wanted to find out more about editing.
Ukraine report: Scandinavian Spring article contest
editWikimedia Ukraine and Ukrainian-Scandinavian Center (USC) have organised an article contest dedicated to the region (including Denmark, Norway, and Sweden). 1095 articles were created or improved during the contest. The results will be announced in April and the awards ceremony is planned for the first half of May.
Ukraine report: Wiki Loves the Olympics
editA thematic month on creating and improving content on Olympic and Paralympic games was organised from February 9 to March 25. 395 articles were created[refs 3], 27 articles improved[refs 4]. Wikimedia Ukraine has partnered with the National Sports Committee Of The Disabled Of Ukraine to give souvenirs signed by athletes to the most active authors of the articles about Paralympics. The results will be announced in the first half of April. We have been invited to attend the official send-off ceremony for Ukraine's national team for the XII Paralympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang (South Korea) on February 28.
