Annual Proposal Submission

The annual plan of CIS-A2K has been submitted to Wikimedia Foundation and may be seen here. In this program year, we would continue our support and service towards the Wikimedia and the free knowledge movement in India. We will build on our past work in areas such as partnership building, Wikisource, leadership-building activities etc. The proposal is currently under review and you may share your thoughts.

Digitisation session with Dakshin Bharat Jain Sabha

Dakshin Bharat Jain Sabha approached CIS-A2K to develop content related to Jain philosophy, monuments and literature on Wikimedia projects. It is a 120-year-old organisation actively working for the upliftment of the Jain community. The organisation's head office is situated in Sangli, Maharashtra. The institution houses a rich library of 100-year-old historical documents, images of monuments and manuscripts. Training sessions of organisations working on river issues

CIS-A2K collaborated with Rotary Water Olympiad and both organisations jointly conducted Pune Nadi Darshan campaign cum photography contest on the occasion of ‘World Water Week’ celebrated from 16 March to 22 March 2022. This is a part of the larger WikiProject Rivers to document rivers in India on Wikimedia Commons.

Many civil society organisations are active in the sector of river conservation, river rejuvenation and citizen science initiatives around the rivers. The skill training sessions for the organisations - Ecological Society, Jeevit Nadi, Rotary members, and H. V. Desai college were conducted from 7 to 9 April in Pune. Two days edit-a-thon by local communities

April was celebrated as Dalit History Month and a couple of Indic communities showed their interest to conduct an event regarding the same. CIS-A2K encouraged them to conduct Mini edit-a-thon events for their own communities. They followed two days mini edit-a-thon model. Punjabi community is going to organise an event on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti. It will be on 13-14 March.

Digitisation review and partnerships in Goa

CIS-A2K conducted a review of digitisation setups in Maharashtra from 24 to 27 April 2022. The visits to - Pune Nagar Vachan Mandir, Vigyan Ashram, Lek Ladki Abhiyan were done to evaluate the process and assessment of work done so far. Based on the observations and discussions, improvements were suggested. Advanced skill training was also imparted. Let's Connect: Learning Clinic on Qualitative Evaluation Methods

The research officer shared learnings from previous and ongoing research studies at CIS-A2K at a learning clinic organised as part of the Let's Connect initiative. Apart from a presentation and discussion on qualitative evaluation methods and tools, the session also included interactive breakout groups to facilitate a hands-on conversation on the objectives and use of these methods for programme evaluation in communities.

Pune Nadi Darshan 2022 photography contest

Pune Nadi Darshan 2022 photography contest is going on from 16 March. CIS-A2K and Rotary Water Olympiad team have planned a photography campaign cum contest - Pune Nadi Darshan 2022 - on Wikimedia Commons. The uploads will be done till 16 May.

Indic Wikisource Work-plan 2022-2023

CIS-A2K conducted the Wikisource workshops in different languages after CIS-A2K/Events/Indic Wikisource Community Consultation 2018 in Kolkata in 2018. Among them the Wikisource communities were Punjabi Wikisource Workshop, Patiala, Gujarati Wikisource Workshop, Ahmedabad Marathi Wikisource Workshop, Pavel, Tamil Wikisource Workshop, Salem and Assamese Wikisource Workshop, Guwahati. CIS-A2K conducted all these Wikisource workshops in 2019.

Punjabi Wikisource Community skill-building workshop

Now, after 3 years of the Covid Pandemic, CIS-A2K is on its path again to those Wikisource language communities. Before planning the event, CIS-A2K did a need-assessment survey of the community. CIS-A2K is going to start back to back activities or work plans for 2022-2023 for Indic communities. In parallel to the Punjabi Wikisource Training Workshop, CIS-A2K is also planning for the Assamese Wikisource community. The event will take place after the one workshop will be done.
