Indic Wikisource Proofreadthon

After a successful two all-India level Indic Wikisource Proofreadthon last year, with the repeated goal of promoting the online activity at the Wikisource project of Indian languages. CIS-A2K team had organised a Proofreadthon for Indic Wikisource Communities. Digitisation training of Lek Ladki Abhiyan

CIS-A2k facilitated one-day training on 6 August 2021 at Lek Ladki Abhiyan with the help of experienced volunteers from Vigyan Ashram. In this training, six new Wikimedians took part to learn the process of scanning books and uploading them to Wikimedia commons. This training was provided to build the 'Savitribai Phule Women's Archive'. Together we are developing collaboration with 150+-year-old Satara Public Library for public domain books. Grants Strategy Relaunch 2020–2021 India call

Grants Strategy Relaunch 2020–2021 India call took place on 8 August 2021 at 7 pm with an objective to share/discuss recent changes that happened in the Grants structure at Wikimedia foundation. Tanveer Hasan (WMF) took part in the call on behalf of the Community Resources team and CIS-A2K hosted it. Launching of Digitisation Centre at Satara

Digitisation centre at Lek Ladki Abhiyan's Muktangan Training facility in Satara was officially launched on 15 August 2021. It was also the first anniversary of the Savitribai Phule Women's Archive. Lek Ladki Abhiyan in collaboration with CIS-A2K organised a small gathering of organisations, authors and librarians from Satara district to spread the word about free knowledge and the digitisation process. Relicensing of books by P. G. Sahasrabudhe

CIS-A2K appealed to heir of P. G. Sahasrabudhe to release his books under free licenses. The OTRS process was explained to the copyright holder for releasing the 13 books. The books were scanned and uploaded on Wikimedia Commons. read more...
