Partnerships with Marathi literary institutions in Hyderabad

Sorting of rare and public domain books in Marathi Granth Sangrahalay, Hyderabad

CIS-A2K's partner Pune Nagar Vachan Mandir's (PNVM) digitisation team of 5 persons, explored the rare and valuable resources at Hyderabad-based organisations - 100-year-old Marathi Granth Sangrahalay (MGS) and 70-year-old Marathi Sahitya Parishad (MSP). Both the organisations cooperated very positively during the selection of books from 15-17th July 2022. O Bharat Digitisation project in Goa Central library

CIS-A2K developed a partnership with Bharatkar Trust in Goa under the 'Goa liberation Struggle' project from October 21. The focus area of the work is facilitating the archival process of O Bharat volumes. After 6 months, Goa Central Public Library has given access to bound volumes of O Bharat and permission to scan them. Another local organisation, Bhakti Dnyan Marg Sanstha in association with Goa University Marathi Department identified a few students for the digitisation training. A total of 6 students were trained, out of which two students completed the scanning work of @12,000 pages. After post-processing, the volumes would be uploaded on Wikimedia Commons & Wikisource. The relicensing of the content is done by the trust.

Partnerships with organisations in Meghalaya

CIS-A2K & WBG (West Bengal Wikimedians User Group) have collaborated with RIWATCH organisation in Arunachal Pradesh to document tribal culture and diversity on Wikimedia projects. The project was launched in March 2022 and progressed well with the active participation of RIWATCH and the local community. The initial meetings and Wikimedia introduction sessions were conducted with Ramakrishna Mission Sohra, a 100-year-old organisation working among the tribal communities and local organisations - Jeebon Roy Memorial Trust Library and Seng Khasi (Socio - Religio Organisation of Indigenous faith of Khasis, Niam Khasi). All the stakeholders have mutually agreed to collaboratively work on:

  • digital documentation of the rich cultural heritage in Khasi, Jaintia and Garo hills of Meghalaya state along with museum collections, art collections, books, manuscripts, audio files etc. produced or collected in different regions of the state,
  • online storage and display of the digitally documented products in the free and open-access platform of Wikimedia, and read more...

Partnerships with Goa University, authors and language organisations

CIS-A2K is finalising partnerships with the Marathi, Konkani and Library science departments of Goa University for various content enrichment projects. The training sessions and workshops are planned with some copyright holders on relicensing and organisations working on the Konkani language.

Gujarati Wikisource Community skill-building workshop

CIS-A2K will conduct an advanced level Wikisource workshop, continuous sustainable road maps, future plan, and GLAM development towards Wikisource project in respective languages.
