Background
editDuring the 10th Bikol Wikipedia Anniversary celebrated at Ateneo de Naga University, CNHS teachers namely Maffeth.opiana, Zeus226, BikolMon and Wikibini attended a workshop on improving, creating and uploading content on Wikimedia projects. Zeus226 was recognized for writing the article of his school on Bikol Wikipedia.
Since 2020, faculty members of CNHS have been participating in the WikiGap Campaign every month of March. Wikibini, Maffeth.opiana and Marife.altabano along with other participants improved at least 30 articles each and actively worked to improve the visibility of women in seven Philippine languages namely: Bikol, Cebuano, Ilocano, Kapampangan, Pangasinan, Tagalog, and Waray. Unfortunately, on March 16, the Philippine government declared the entire Luzon area in the Philippines under "enhanced community quarantine" (ECQ) which is effectively a total lockdown. In spite of the canceled offline activities, some of the participants continued their online activities.
The following year, ten (10) junior and senior high school teachers from Cararayan National High School attended a meet-up organized by Maffeth Opiana wherein she oriented the attendees with the on-going WikiGap Campaign. And on its 3rd year, the activity was held at Tugawe Cove Cafe in celebration of women's month with the goal to close the gender gap on the internet by creating and improving articles about women.
Faculty members of CNHS have been participating in the activities organized by PhilWiki Community including the Bikol Wikipedia anniversary celebration year after year, Wiki Loves Earth Philippines since 2018 and WikiGap Campaigns from to present.
