Community Wishlist/Wishes/Built-in feature to report issues with articles
Description
Some Wikimedia projects have successfully implemented grassroots initiatives that offer a solution for reporting errors in articles (see pl:Wikipedia:Zgłoś błąd w artykule and interwikis). However, this is a solution that is not built into MediaWiki and its operation is based on the work of technical volunteers. It also has certain limitations.
Many readers do not want to and will not correct errors in articles themselves (for various reasons) and we will not change that. The possibility of posting a comment on the discussion page always exists, but it is not a reader-friendly form, and the reader is not always aware that they have such a possibility on this page. A clear and visible function for reporting an error would certainly make it easier to report such errors (+ inform that the reader can correct the error themselves, see the error reporting function in pl:Polska and the "Report an error in the article" link in the Tools tab), as well as to correct them by editors.
However, in the case of creating a built-in feature, it would be best if the reported error was visible not only on a dedicated page (that collects all reported issues), but also in the article discussion (or even visible from the article itself). Such feature should also have an option to notify users/wikiprojects about reported issues (in the past, pl.wiki also had a function for notifying users and wikiprojects → the bot checked the category tree of the reported article and informed specific projects and users. However, this function does not work at the moment).
