Content Partnerships Hub
Improving the Wikimedia movement’s work with content partners
OpenRefine
OpenRefine is an open-source application for cleaning up data and working with data on Wikidata. In 2021-22, with support of a Wikimedia project grant, OpenRefine was further developed to support Wikimedia Commons functionalities, including Structured Data on Commons integration and uploading files.
The content partnerships hub has been, and continues to be, involved in the development of OpenRefine by:
- Keeping up with how the Wikimedia Commons development progress was going
- Testing and providing feedback about newly deployed features
- Sharing experience from the large-scale uploads and Wikimedia Commons batch edits we do with OpenRefine, and sharing similar experiences of GLAM staff
- Contributing to conversations about future support and maintenance for Wikimedia features in OpenRefine
