ESEAP Conference 2022/Report/GhoziSeptiandri

Things the participant contributed or participated in the conference

edit

Back at the end of May 2022, I had a conversation with Jacqueline (WMF) about ESEAP Funds Committee role. After that, I learn more about ESEAP Region from Hub, SWAN, and Monthly Meetings. As I got interested with all of those, I volunteered to be Program Committee. On July 30th, my first meeting of ESEAP Conference 2022 Organizer, I'm appointed to be the Coordinator for Program Committee.

Things learned at the conference

edit
  • Learning how to organize Wikimedia Events.
  • Getting to know more about ESEAP Hub such as history, projects, and people.
  • Traveling in the post-pandemic, this is also a remark about my experience outside the continent (Asia to Australia).

Plans after the conference (from what I learned or contributed at the conference)

edit
  • Use all the information from the conference to support my role on ESEAP Funds Committee.
  • Perhaps have my own project and present it in the future.
  • And of course, I will continue this conference saga journey to participate in Wikimania 2023 as a member of the organizer.

Comments/ suggestions about the conference

Comment:

With the scope, time, resources, and challenge to create this kind of event in the post-pandemic, I'm very impressed with the result. Especially the organizer who dedicated their time to their own job. Thanks to Wikimedia Australia who guide and back me up during my role as Coordinator of Program Committee. I have no plan to do something like this in 2022, but I am glad that I am part of it.

Suggestion:

Definitely, more time and preparation for the next ESEAP Conference if we want it better than this :)
