ESEAP Conference 2022/Report/WhisperToMe
Things I learned
editI learned how to make more stylistic additions to book transcriptions on Wikisource; this is important as I wish to add more content on Wikisource when I get a chance. I learned about how students can use Wikipedia as a method of learning media literacy. This is a quite crucial skill, seeing the effects of disinformation in my own country and wishing to avoid such in the future.
Most importantly, I met some very passionate Wikipedians who have found how to use Wikipedia to improve their local communities and to teach people about their local culture. The effort to preserve old Indonesian texts was something that was very heartwarming.
Plans after the conference
editI plan to increase coverage of articles related to East Asia. I learned how to access old South China Morning Post archives so I can show notability of various topics related to Hong Kong.
I would like to participate in the Asia Month 2023 (as I unfortunately missed 2022).
