In an innovative move toward bridging academia and public knowledge, we have successfully integrated graduate students from four universities—located in Spain, France, Palestine, and the United States—into Wikipedia as part of their academic curriculum. Led by Osama Eid, this international initiative focuses on expanding the global reach of graduate research by using Wikipedia as a platform for knowledge sharing.

This program encourages students to apply their academic expertise to Wikipedia, contributing peer-reviewed, high-quality content in their respective fields of study. Under the mentorship of faculty and with the guidance of experienced Wikipedia editors, the students are ensuring that Wikipedia content reflects current, accurate, and well-sourced research.

By participating in this project, students are learning how to present complex research to the public, ensuring it is accessible to non-experts. The collaboration has fostered interdisciplinary work, cross-cultural exchange, and enhanced students' digital literacy. It has also empowered them to contribute to the open knowledge movement, making their academic work available to a global audience.

This initiative, which supports open education and academic transparency, aims to inspire similar collaborations worldwide. Through this unique integration of Wikipedia into graduate studies, universities are not only improving public access to knowledge but also expanding the real-world impact of academic research.
