Wiki Loves Africa is organizing a training for its participants to guide them on how to upload files for the photography contest.
This training will focus on the basics of uploading on Wikimedia Commons and will consist of a demo upload. Participants are advised to have a computing device handy to aid participation.

Trainer
is one of Wiki Loves Africa French Ambassador, a Wikimedian since 2018. Founding member of the Wikimédiens du Bénin User Group, Co Local Organizer of Wiki Loves Africa in Benin 2019–2020, 2021–2022;
Since 2020: Verification and evaluation of images from Wiki Loves Africa, in order to make them more visible and useful on other Wikimedia projects; Image clean-up (categories, description, renaming etc.) and submission of our best pictures to quality and featured status.
About the training
The focus of the training session will be explain the different file formats accepted on Wikimedia Commons for audio, videos and images, understanding categories and the use of categories, understanding the importance of descriptions and showing hands on practical on how to upload files to Wikimedia Commons.

- How to get different file formats,
- The importance and use of categories,
- How to make file description shine, and
- The step-by-step processes of uploading files to Wikimedia Commons.
Target Audience
The training is targeted specifically at Wiki Loves Africa 2025, local organizers, participants and generally at Wikimedians interested in uploading files to Wikimedia Commons.
