Session types

  • Lightning talk: Presenter gives a talk with follow-up by the audience at the end of the lightning session. The total time for a lightning talk will be 5 - 7 minutes; there will be Q & A at the end.
  • Talk: A presentation followed by questions and comments from the audience. The total time for a talk will be 15 or 30 minutes.
  • Workshop: A topic with active interaction with the audience. The total time for a workshop will be 60 minutes.
  • Roundtable: Panel of guests


Sessions will be recorded and all slides/supporting materials need to be freely licensed.

There is the option for speakers to present remotely although of course we would love to see you there!

Application

You will be asked to provide the following information;

  • the title of the submitted proposal;
  • the username of speaker(s);
  • the session type;
  • the duration; and
  • an abstract detailing what you want to do, and what you are hoping to achieve.

Please ensure your submission has the {{WikiCon Australia 2024 submissions header}} template at the top (as it will by default if you use the form below to create the page).

Closing date for submissions is 31 July 2024.

How to submit a session proposal

To submit your session proposal follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Insert the title of your proposal in the text entry box below.
  • Step 2: Click on the "Session proposal" button to create a new application form.
  • Step 3: Fill in the application form and save the page to submit your proposal.
  • Step 4 : Don't delete the {{WikiCon Australia 2024 submissions header}} at the top of your submission.

Please make sure that you have logged in before submitting your proposal.
