English: Grilled marble
- A small piece of marble is heated to red hot on a Bunsen burner. When added to water containing few drops of phenolphthalein indicator, the liquid turns raspberry red – a proof that the reaction is basic. Unheated piece of marble does not give such a reaction. The marble was pyrolysed, and the CaO product gives basic reaction with water. CaCO3(s) → CaO(s) + CO2(g) CaO(s) + H2O(l) → Ca2+(aq) + 2OH–(aq) Planned and performed by Marina Stojanovska, Miha Bukleski and Vladimir Petruševski, Department of Chemistry, FNSM, Ss. - Парченце мермер се жари на пламен од гасна греалка. Потоа се става во воден раствор од фенолфталеин. Течноста се бои малиновоцрвено – доказ за базна реакција. Нежарено парче мермер не дава таква реакција. Доаѓа до пиролиза при која еден од продуктите (калциум оксид) со вода дава базна реакција: CaCO3(s) → CaO(s) + CO2(g) CaO(s) + H2O(l) → Ca2+(aq) + 2OH–(aq) Осмислено и изведено од Марина Стојановска, Миха Буклески и Владимир Петрушевски, Институт за хемија, ПМФ, УКИМ, Скопје. |
