English: :Sparrowhawk. Occupied nest in a birch. Female sitting in the nest. Wailing call followed by series of kek-ke-kek, somewhat similar to goshawk calls, but softer. Male showed up at the nest seconds after. Both left the nest. Female perched on a nearby tree to eat prey. Male perched on another tree. This continued for 8 minutes. Female looked up when crows flew by. Saw same nest attacked by two crows on the previous day, defended by female.
Location obscured to protect nest. Urban area, traffic sounds. Recorded with an Olympus handheld recorder, from 35 m distance. Built-in mic. No filters.
