DescriptionMelanerpes lewis - Lewis's Woodpecker XC254617.mp3
English: :A bird on a dead tree trunk up on a hillside. I'm slightly less than 100% certain about the ID of this sound, but I recorded this sound several times while focused on Lewis's woodpecker waiting for them to vocalize, and it seems a fairly close match to several recordings here and on Macaulay.
This area appears to have suffered a fire in recent years since all the trees in this area were dead trunks. As a result, this area held a large number of woodpeckers, including hairy, lewis's, red-headed, and northern flicker.
