日本語: 應需 香蝶櫻豊國画「東海道五十三對」より『鳴海』、伊勢屋市兵衛版、大判錦絵 "鳴海より壹里ほど東に有松村といふあり 此所の名物ハ 細き木綿をいろいろに絞りて紅と藍とに染分(そめわけ) 諸國へ商ふ これをありまつしぼりといふ 店前に多くかざりてこれをのみあきなふ家所々にあり" 鳴海より東に1里ほどの場所にある有松村の名産品である有松絞りを紹介する錦絵。 English: "Shibori" cloth was made through a tie-dyeing process. It became particularly popular during the Edo period. Cloth would be tied tightly around small pebbles, creating white circular patterns. Note the small bundles the woman has already tied in preparation for dyeing. Examples of "shibori" clothes hang in the background.
