DescriptionVireo philadelphicus - Philadelphia Vireo XC134152.ogg
English: :Pretty terrible recording, but possibly interesting nonetheless.
A migrant bird foraging in Ash and Ostrya virginiana on wooded hillside in an urban park. Offered very close views, but stayed entirely silent for nearly the entire 45 minutes that I watched it. Eventually I tried to solicit some vocalizations with playback (using XC22433), and it immediately flew in very close to me (2-3m away on a branch just above eye level), fluttered its wings rapidly against its body while looking around anxiously to find the source of the sound, and gave these little pip-pip-pip calls. Sex unknown.
