Description
Deutsch: Neben der Kalvarienbergkapelle von Wartberg ob der Aist wurde 2015 ein Mahnmal für die Opfer der „Mühlviertler Menschenjagd“ (1945) errichtet. Bei diesem Kriegsverbrechen wurden mehr etwa 500 geflüchtete sowjetische Kriegsgefangene des Konzentrationslagers Mauthausen gejagt und ermordet. Die drei gläsernen Tafeln bilden die 12. Station des Kreuzweges.
English: A memorial for the victims of the “Mühlviertel manhunt” (1945) was erected next to the calvary chapel in Wartberg ob der Aist. In this war crime, more than 500 Soviet prisoners of war who had fled the Mauthausen concentration camp were hunted and murdered. The three glass panels form the 12th station on the Way of the Cross to the chapel.
