Fulfulde Wiki For Human Right

Fulfulde Wiki For Human Right is a movement to joined the remaining global efforts in preserving human rights in Fulfulde Community with the aim of promoting our Fundamental human rights through Wikipedia foundation project, to collaborate with local Human right body, stakeholders, community building and awareness engagement to establish a sustainable Fulfulde Wiki for human rights for lasting impact.

The campaign will focused on recruiting new editors and inspire our existing editors to focus on creating new article and improving the existing ones that are directly related to Human right.

Approach

Respect for human rights is a central feature of democracy. They promote the democratic values of human dignity, freedom and equality before the law. The Nigeria Bill of Rights is the cornerstone of our democracy, and outlines our rights. Human rights protect us against the actions of those who exercise power over us and help to create a world in which we can all reach our full potential as human beings. We are entitled to have our human rights protected and promoted simply because we are human beings and deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. This means, whatever our nationality, place of residence, sex, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, language or any other status – we are all entitled to fundamental human rights. Human rights are the fundamental rights of all people. There are several categories, however, of specific human rights. Human rights include the Right to security from harm, Right to legal equality the Right to political participation and the Right to liberty.

Objectives

To train native Fulfulde editor's in contributing to Wikipedia through creating articles that are directly related to Human rights
To bridge content gap about LGBTQI Nigeria topics on the Wikimedia Foundation projects
To partner with human right organizations in Nigeria.
To raise awareness about wiki for human rights to our local community specifically in Fulfulde speaking Community

Proposed Activities

Organize two Wikipedia online season to prepared our editors ahead of the Campaign.
Organize physical Wikipedia trainings in Fulfulde speaking Community in Jigawa State
Organize a town hall meeting with stakeholders towards promoting human rights.
