The GLAM exhibition and event in an outreach initiative organized in Lugano in 2014 and aiming at reaching potential GLAM partners in Italian-speaking Switzerland and the north of Italy.
- Target: potential GLAMs partners in Italian-speaking Switzerland and the north of Italy.
- Period: Autumn 2014 (October or November 2014)
- Location: Lugano.
- Promoter: Wikimedia CH (in collaboration with Wikimedia Italia, SUPSI and the team of the project LapisAlp). The initiative also contributes to the project The Alps on Wikipedia.
The project aims at reaching potential GLAM partners in Italian-speaking Switzerland and the north of Italy. More specifically the
- Present important Wikimedia GLAM projects not limited only to Switzerland or Italy. => We expect to present an exhibition of Wiki Loves Monuments winning photos and an exhibition of successful projects related to GLAMs.
- Invite cultural associations, galleries, museums, libraries and archives to the show room, conference and convivial buffet. => The prevision of number of potential participants are around 100 (GLAM, cultural associations and public administrations).
- Open discussions between Wikimedia Italia, Wikimedia Switzerland and SUPSI with GLAMs for potential projects. => We expect the conference to support the establishment of 20 partnerships with GLAMs, cultural associations and public administrations in Ticino, Grigioni, Insubria (Como and Varese and Sondrio) areas (those partnerships will be followed up by Wikimedia Italia, Wikimedia CH and SUPSI and they meet also the expected output of the project The Alps on Wikipedia).
- invitation to local members of cultural institutions and cultural administrations. The invitation to institutions and people specifically focuses on Ticino, Grigioni, Insubria (Como and Varese and Sondrio) areas. Wikimedia Italia is open to extend it also to Milan or other areas.
