Grants:APG/Proposals/2013-2014 round2/Wikimédia France/Proposal form/Quality approach
A quality approach refers to the processes, business practices, and the organization thereof, being performed to the satisfaction of the organization’s various participants. It is a critical step in the evolution of our strategic plan, since the quality approach reveals project elements that are at the root of change and/or the reorientation of a program. Additionally, it allows us to legitimize our decisions concerning the implementation of future adjustments or changes as well as justify the partial implementation of action plans to investors.
Starting such an approach implies building a mastered process using a model of continuous improvement, which, as a result, saves a significant amount of time. Above all, it is a strong asset that allows an organization to simplify its daily work, to think about its practices, detect its weaker points and mitigate them. Quality concerns all members of the organization, no matter what their position is.
To summarize, this is a process that promotes the appropriate way of thinking based on all the available factual elements, in accordance with all available indicators and under the influence of the evaluator’s value system. It is a document that summarizes, in a precise and orderly fashion, the combination of criteria that determine satisfaction of qualitative expectations.
Wikimédia France has already undertaken a project to define indicators, but we would like to go further in creating consistency in the process by creating an action framework, that makes it possible to increase the objectivity of results.
We have decided to measure three aspects in the context of our quality approach:
- The impact of our programs on the Wikimedia project (Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, Wikisource, etc.)
- The impact on the organization’s level of mobilization
- The program’s social impact
