Project idea

edit

What is the problem you're trying to solve?

edit

The Board is out of touch with Community thinking as made clear by the Superprotect and Geshuri affairs as extreme cases.

What is your solution?

edit

A Community Broker, authorised to attend Board meetings, to present items for discussions and to participate in dicussions, but not a voting member. Their responsibility would be to gather and priotitise issues of concern to the Community, to speak for Community concerns at Board meetings and to relay appropriate parts of Board discussions back to the Community. The Broker would need to work effectively with the Chair to handle confidential and personnel issues. Ideally the Broker would be elected by the Community on a similar basis to the nominees for Board membership. The role would be purely voluntary and unpaid but would require administrative and logistical support from staff as do the Board officers.
