Project idea

edit

What is the problem you're trying to solve?

edit

Sometime harassment comes from the fact that there is a one to one conversation going between a contributor and a more advanced wikipedia user. It starts with a disagreement and soon, after a few exchanges, names are flying. The issue can come from both sides with very good reasons on both side.

What is your solution?

edit

If, whenever there is a disagreement between two people, a third party could be put in the conversation, I assume it would lower the voice and put both people in a collaborating mode rather than a fight mode.

Project goals

edit

For everyone, knowing that a third party would watch the conversation, it would help both side to better behave. This third party role could become a new role within the wikimedia community : not someone that contributes or edit articles but rather someone that is ready to read conversation between people (on any subject) and is ready to intervene when he/she feels the tension is growing between the two involved.
