Project idea

edit

GettingStarted creates an easy entrypoint for fixing articles with simple errors. To attract and motivate contributors, the GettingStarted toolbar, which currently lets users flip between articles tagged with 3 common cleanup templates, could be adapted to let users seek out articles needing cleanup or maintenance on certain subjects or in certain backlogs. A layer of instruction, learning, contribution tracking, role badges, and achievement milestones would be added to the toolbar for continued engagement from contributors as well as micro-contributions from less common demographics and editor backgrounds.

Project goals

edit

The goal of this project is to expand upon easy entry points for editors, to motivate sustained cleanup and backlog maintenance efforts, and to provide a tool which WikiProject might use to focus work on articles needing cleanup within their respective categories.
