Grants:IdeaLab/To facilitate creating wiki articles in other languages
Project idea
editWhat is the problem you're trying to solve?
editMy sygestion is very simple to describe, i remarked many persons trying to read definition of a subject but they do not find it in their own languages, only english articles are usually well represented, i tried to translate some articles sometimes and it is really very dificult, it takes me so much time to look for corect categories, corect templates etc... And perhaps many newbies never translate english wiki articles to their mother tongue cause of these constraints.
What is your solution?
editI sugest to add a link entitled "add this page in your language" below the languages menu of all wikipedadia articles just below "edit links" item, when a user click on this link if it is possible to let him choose 2 options :
-1 automated translation and let the user corect the mistakes made by the robot ; or -2 create a new empty wiki page in the new laguage but with automotaic corect category, models and templates
Project goals

edit- This seems to be a work in progress. In the upper right under "Beta" you can activate "Content Translation". Here's it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:ContentTranslation?campaign=contributionsmenu&to=en . It also shows a link to create the article in one's own language if it doesn't yet exist on the left of articles. One suggestion for improvement I'd have is to pre-translate an article via Google Translator so that just a relatively few adjustments have to be made to properly translate the full article.
