More to learn
editFurther details about what I would like to learn.
Tools for making batch uploads of media and data to Wikimedia projects (e.g. Pattypan, OpenRefine)' WHY?: Campaigns leave behind a lot of work to do and I would love to learn how to use these aforementioned tools in order to be more efficient.
Wikimedia Tools (PAWS, Quarry, WDQS) for running queries and scripts wHY?: I would love to get a good practical knowledge of how various scripts work on Wikipedia in order to be able to improve them, work with it and help others who might be stuck with it.
Use various tools related to community health ( Quarry, or Wikidata Query, Phabricator, specifically to promote community health. Additionally, write your own tools or contribute to the specification or development of tools) WHY? I would love to learn how these tools work in order to create tools that solve problems or make me; and in turn others, work efficiently
Stories about sharing
editInteresting stories about applying the skills I want to share.
Setting up templates for Wikimedia projects (Main pages, infoboxes, etc.) WHY?: I had created most of the templates being used on the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Portal:African_cinema
Using new tools for efficient organising and monitoring contributions (registration tools, newcomer edit tools, event and calendar tools, Programs & Events Dashboard, etc.). WHY?: I had used the outreach dashboard (https://outreachdashboard.wmflabs.org/users/Danidamiobi) and AddVent (a calendar tool) to make it easier to onboard and track user contributions and to manage their time.
Volunteer management and development: (i.e defining and managing tasks, creating the right incentives and forms of recognition, monitoring engagement, volunteer development opportunities staff/volunteer relations)
WHY? I led the local organizers of the AfroCreatives WikiProject which entailed encouraging, equipping and giving incentives to them for being on the project. The result of this was a successful campaign. I was also the founder and founding member of the Wikimedia Fan Club, University of Ilorin where I aligned the community so much that they have created close to 1000 altogether since they started and are still waxing strong.
