What worked well?
It has been highly useful to have this grant serve as a compliment to my Wikipedia activities that are direct sponsored by METRO and to extend the time I have to work on local projects.
What didn't work?
One problem that is increasingly obvious in New York as METRO has scaled up its Wikipedia activities, is that the demand in New York to engage with and learn about Wikipedia is bigger than the supply of knowledgeable, and professional Wikipedia volunteers that we have on hand. What I realized after having some events that were understaffed with volunteers in New York is that
One remaining difficulty of Edit-a-thons is that it is hard to predict and accommodate the wide range of technical literacy among participants of a public

Edit-a-thon. A way of resolving this issue might be in specifying in event advertising, what technical skills are needed in order to participate. The problem is that we don't want to create any more barriers to entry than already exist.

What would you do differently if you planned a similar project?
In the future, I would like to see someone in a similar type of Residency as me be a facilitator of small grants at the local level.
