Project scope

Wikimedia Denmark has so far existed on membership fees and random generosity, but that will not be enough to shift into the next gear - at least not in the first few years.

We would like to expand our capacity for working in the real world and interacting with local institutions, exploring the possibility of becoming tax-deductable, and maturing as a membership organization.

The planned activities include participating in book fair, sending attendees to Wikimedia and free culture events and meeting up with Wikim|pedians and the GLAM sector outside Copenhagen.

Project goal

The goal of this project is to enable a more sustained and professional building of relationships with the institutions of our region, and to enable us to solidify our organizational infrastructure.

Non-financial requirements

There are no significant non-financial requirements, but we are in a process of learning and sharing our experiences.

Fit to strategy

The project will help develop the professionalization and credibility of the organization, and its capacity for further such professionalization in the future.

Other benefits

This project allows us to take advantage of some timely opportunities for cooperation with other groups to use funding for smaller events.

Measures of success

We will consider this project a success if we become better able to manage general operational expenses, and are able to develop and pursue strategies needed for our longer-term existence as an organization.

Numeric measures include membership details, participant counts at events and counts of GLAM-related files in Wikimedia Commons.
