The training is conducted by sharing experience, strategy, and exchange of information with regards of procedures, local resources, time and ability. Wikimedia Indonesia already identify point of entry on how to introduce outreach program by inviting very active volunteer contributor and Banjar Language Wikipedia pioneer, Arif Rahman, to Jakarta. Wikimedia Indonesia also would like to explore the possibility of what might interest Banjar Native speakers to contribute by aligning project goals with hope and dreams of its existing volunteer and Banjar Language Wikipedia pioneer, Arif Rahman. Background File:Banjar Language Active and Very Active Users.png Banjar Language Active and Very Active Users Banjar Language Wikipedia launched on October 17, 2010 to public by Wikimedia Language Committee. Based on statistical data for local languages Wikipedia in Indonesia years after its launching the Wikipedias in this languages have the tendency to be stagnant or even died. Wikimedia Indonesia identify that one of the project main problem is to "naturally" (online) increase the numbers of volunteer contributors for local language. In Javanese, Sundanese, Bugesenese, Banyumasan, even Malay language Wikipedia (who's potential contributors are from two different countries) has been constantly showing the same problem - contributors decline. Wikimedia Indonesia would like to prevent the same problem happening to Banjar Language Wikiedia since the very beginning by introducing the trend and possibilities of editors while the project is still "warm" and willingness to contribute is high. We assume that initial intervention in the beginning is necessary as a warning and possibly off line effort will be cheaper than offline effort to revitalized or resuscitate a dying project like the Javanese or Sundanese Language Wikipedia. Project goal Identify, invite and funded Banjar Language Wikipedia pioneer and very active contributor to Jakarta for introduction, discussion, and project training. Introduce and familiarize volunteer with Wikimedia Indonesia and possibility of cooperation in the future. Identify whether our invitee would be the right person to do outreach or outreach would be something that s/he would rather not do. Identify possible opportunities and difficulties in doing outreach to potential contributors both technical or social. Identify local resources available and the kind of project intervention possible. Fit to strategy Find more very active user in Banjar Language Wikipedia to enable the project to a healthy grow to sustain itself. Other benefits Wikimedia Indonesia potential activiy outreach to Borneo and project is not centralized in Jakarta only. Measures of success Volunteer familiarize himself with Wikimedia Indonesia and its procedure. Volunteer know how to start project, identify resources, and give Wikimedia Indonesia decision whether s/he is interested to do a follow up effort. Volunteer continue to be engage in potential project with Wikimedia Indonesia by updating WMID monthry regarding ideas, resources, and barriers.
