African Women Educationists have long been inspirational figures in championing the cause of girl education in Africa.There exists numerous notable and remarkable quotes from African Women that specializes in the field of Education ranging from African Women that are primary and secondary school teachers, principals, lecturers, educational counsellors, rectors and vice chancellors.These notable and remarkable quotes from this African Women educationist has helped to break the barriers across Africa to enable young girls reach their full academic potential as girl education is a vital way of transforming lives, not just for the girl herself but for her family and the community too and the world at large.These inspiring quotes from African Women educators have not been fully and properly documented on wikiquote.
Through this project we hope to engage and train , individuals,new and existing Wikimedian editors on how to effectively create and improve Wikiquote articles, documenting this powerful and inspiring quotes of these prominent African Women educators to ensure that their quotes are appropriately acknowledged,preserved and documented as this will immensely bridge the content gap about the notable and remarkable quotes from African Women educators, giving the world access to the notable and remarkable quotes from African Women educators that often go unheard.
- 2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.
1.. Creating Awareness About the Event: To inform both existing and aspiring Wikimedian editors, we will be creating and sharing E-flyers across designated social media platforms. This will serve as a forum to generate interest in and bring awareness about the upcoming event.
- 2. Organizing One Physical Event and Edit a thon: Through this physical event, participants will have the opportunity to become experienced and versatile Wikimedian editors, understanding the basic editing skills and principles of wikiquote. Furthermore, equipping them with the very unique art and act of contributing to Wikiquote.
- 3.Organizing a Virtual Webinar and Edit a Thon: We are inviting a highly experienced female academia, educationist and activist to share her knowledge and experience about how notable quotes from African women have helped to foster girl education in Africa. This session will provide a platform for participants to ask questions and engage in a dynamic conversation with the invited guest, as this will help to raise greater awareness about gender gap diversity.
- 3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?
1. Creating Awareness: Before the event begins, we will be sharing and distributing e-flyers to new and existing Wikimedian editors across the designated social media platforms. An online registration form will be shared to collect relevant data - including participant emails - to enable easy registration for the event. We will also be sending out mail reminders to registered participants before the event to ensure they don't miss out.
- 2. Edit a thon Day (Physical Training/Main Day): The day will be broken down into multiple sessions.The first will be the Introductory session where new editors will create new Wikipedian account and the participants will learn the general basic editing skills on Wikiquote which includes searching and retrieval of information on Wikiquote .The Main Session will focus on training participants with the use of projector and slides on how to make Wikiquote entries about the notable quotes from African Women educators.The last session will involve the edit a thon session, during this session participants will be actively involved in making wikiquote entries related to African Women educators.
- 3.Edit a thon Day 2 (Virtual Webinar):The webinar will be broken down into two sessions. During the first/Main session will be inviting an expert and a well experienced African female educator to speak and provide powerful insight into how well these quotes can help and has helped young girls reach their full academic potential. The second session will involve engaging participants who were unavailable for the physical event, training them on how to effectively make Wikiquote entries towards the desired goal of the project. The day will rounded off with an edit a thon to solidify their knowledge.
- 4.Contest: The event will end with an Online contest on Wikiquote. The top 5 contributors will be awarded gift vouchers as this will serve as a medium to motivate them and encourage wider engagement and participation in other and future wiki events.

Ebubechukwu1(Project Lead): I am an experienced Wikimedian editor, with over 8000 edit contributions. I have co-facilitated major online and physical training on Wikipedia and its sister projects, such as Wiki Glam Lagos, the Wikipedia Awareness for youth service corps in Abuja and Reading Wikipedia in Classroom Lagos. I have also won several Wikimedian contests and participated in Wikiquote events, such as the SheSaid event in Nigeria and Women in Kwara.
Dammy Kaka (Co-facilitator): He is an experienced Wikimedian editor and trainer, with an impressive contributions on Wikiquote. He was one of the facilitators and trainers at Wikilove SDG Tour and SheSaid event in Nigeria as a trainer. He will be providing his support and assistance to co-facilitate this event.
Ayodelerance (Communications and Logistics): He is an experienced Wikimedian editor and trainer, with a vast and impressive contributions on Wikiquote. He was part of the trainers at Reading Wikipedia in Classroom Lagos. He will be providing his support and assistance in communications and logistics for this event.

This project will help bridge the gap in knowledge about remarkable quotes from African Women educators, promoting gender gap diversity. By bridging this gap, it will immensely benefit students, educators, and professionals alike, empowering them to gain a better understanding of African Women's contributions to the field of education.

The target participants of this event are individuals, youths, students, and existing Nigerian Wikimedians editors.
Before the event, we will be sharing and distributing e-flyers to the designated platform of the target participants and sending out an online registration form as a medium to recruit new editors and participants for the event.
During the event, my team and I will be actively involved in training and equipping participants in the very art and act of contributing to Wikiquote entries related to African Women educationists. We will carefully monitor and guide the editing activities of the new editors to ensure that the standards of editing Wikiquote are not vandalized or jeopardized.
After the event, we will be working to ensure the sustainability of the participants by having them join as community members of Wikimedia User Group Nigeria. This will keep them posted and foster participation in future and other wiki events and projects. Additionally, participants will be added to a WhatsApp group for follow ups, questions, and feedbacks.

We will adhere strictly to the Wikimedia friendly space policy and UCOC all through the project activities and also enlighten all participants about it.
