Building on the progress made from October to December 2024 Grants:Programs/Wikimedia Community Fund/Rapid Fund/Fante Wikimedians Community Team and Community Engagement Activities (ID: 21984878), the Fante Wikimedians are committed to sustaining and expanding our initiatives from January to March 2025. Our primary focus during this period is to address ongoing challenges such as editor retention, deepen community engagement, and integrate Fante Wikimedians more effectively into the broader Wikimedia movement. Despite initial successes, sustaining engagement remains crucial for long-term impact. We aim to ensure that new editors remain active, encourage ongoing contributions, strengthen the sense of community, and increase participation in global Wikimedia events and initiatives and also use this opportunity to build capacity for team and members

7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found. Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

Our planned activities for January to March 2025 include implementing advanced training workshops and involvement in other Wikimedia projects such as Wikidata and Commons. Online events will be organized to discuss ongoing projects, future developments, and support for volunteers, including office hours for editors to share experiences, collaborate on projects, and provide mutual support. Thematic edit-a-thons and contests centred on specific themes will drive focused content creation and also translation drives will continue to expand the availability of articles in the Fante language on the Fante Wikipedia.

We will facilitate virtual participation in global Wikimedia discussions to connect our community with broader movement discussions and initiatives. Additionally, we will conduct a leadership training program, specifically designed as a training of trainers, to empower community members to take on leadership roles and mentor new editors. We will also organize photowalks to capture and document Fante's cultural heritage, landmarks, and everyday life, enriching Wikimedia Commons with high-quality images relevant to our community.

Regarding partnerships, we will strengthen existing collaborations with Wiki World Heritage, Feminism and Folklore, and other partners. We will also form new partnerships with academic institutions, GLAM entities, and local organizations to embed Wikimedia activities in their regular operations. Media and social media campaigns will be run to promote Wikimedia projects and encourage participation from Fante speakers.

For a detailed timeline of activities, please refer to our project timeline here. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MhcsmYba-MkkYdKz-XOOcq9n5_eu2in7460fyMZTQ5M/edit?usp=sharing

We understand the importance of maintaining communication with our participants and plan to use various platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and social media to achieve this.

To ensure continued participation and retention after the project implementation, we have developed a series of strategies. First, we will collect usernames and contact information through feedback forms to keep track of our participants. Additionally, we will offer optional mailing lists and social media groups for those interested in staying updated on future events.

We also plan to identify the most active, knowledgeable, and motivated contributors and invite them to future events, providing them with opportunities to take on leadership roles within the community.
