6. What is the change you are trying to bring? What are the main challenges or problems you are trying to solve? Describe this change or challenges, as well as main approaches to achieve it. (required)

With the successes recorded in our past projects, we, the non-recognized Ibibio Group (in the process of applying for official status), are still embarking on more projects to reach more Ibibio language native speakers who are interested in contributing to the growth of our community.

Through this project "Ibibio Language on Incubator", we are going to grow the contents on Ibibio Wikipedia on Incubator and also increase our chances of getting our own domain to boost the visibility of Ibibio on the internet.

We are also going to recruit and train more participants who will become active contributors and volunteers on Wikimedia projects.

We will invite a total of 20 old and new editors for this project.

A refresher training will be conducted for the old editors, while the new participants will be introduced to Wikimedia projects, especially the Ibibio Wikipedia on Incubator, which is the focus of this project.

We are going to assign articles to each of the old and new participants and use the outreach dashboard to track all their contributions.

At the end of the project, we are going to give prizes as a form of motivation to top the 5 editors.

7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found. Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.

This project will be a 2-day in-person edit-a-thon where both old and new Ibibio language native speakers will be recruited.

In the course of the project, 70 articles will be created, improved and translated on Ibibio Wikipedia on Incubator by the participants.

Our target participants are people based in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, who are Ibibio native speakers.

The participants will be recruited through offline/physical recruitment processes to actualize our project.

Participants who will be engaged in the edit-a-thon will be given a form in order to collect their data for registration.

When the project starts, we are going to teach the participants step-by-step and make sure they understand everything about Wikimedia projects and how to contribute effectively.

Participants will be taught how to register an account, Wikimedia policies and guidelines, and how to use all the Wikimedia editing tools available to them for a hitch-free volunteer experience. We will also teach them how to create articles on Ibibio Wikipedia on Incubator.

At the conclusion of the project, the participants are going to join our group, Ibibio Group, get added to our WhatsApp group, and follow our social media pages.

The participants will be receiving updates from us, and follow-up will also be conducted through one-on-one engagement, listening to the participants challenges, guiding them, and answering their questions, as the case may be.
