- 1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.
The Ghana Institute of Journalism and Pentecost University College are both educational institutes. GIJ was established in 1959, whereas PUC was established in 2003. There is no Wiki Club or community at either of these 88-year-old institutions. New editors and volunteers from the organization will be exposed to the movement and introduced to Wikipedia and Wikidata through this effort. This project will place a greater emphasis on publications relating to gender, ethnicity, religion, and culture because the institutions are ones that are heavily dominated by women.
- 2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.
Content Gender Gap: In Wikipedia and Wikidata, we will focus more on topics that focus more on women. To concentrate on content that includes underrepresented genders, we will plan in-person edit-a-thons. To do this, we will organize a curation team of five (5) to look up information and reliable sources on the subjects of interest to support our volunteers' involvement in our editathons.
Outreach Campaigns: Our team will work together to plan and execute a series of outreach campaigns in both Institutions. These campaigns will include presentations, workshops, and other events designed to increase awareness and participation in Wikipedia. Also, we will recruit new volunteers from both institutions.
- 3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?
Editathons: For members of both Institutions to work on articles with underrepresented women, we will organize editathons and workshops. Throughout the course of this project, we will host 12 editathons where we will add to or improve more than 800 pages and items on Wikipedia and Wikidata, respectively. By doing this, we will guarantee that more than 50% of the articles that are created or modified focus more on women. These editathons will be led by experienced Wikipedia editors and local experts, who will provide guidance and support to participants.
Community Engagement: We will work closely with the student's representative council of both institutions to ensure that the project is relevant, useful, and engaging to the students of the institutions. We will also encourage people to contribute to the project, through online platforms and phisical workshops.

Participants will be editing articles related to female athletes, religious leaders, diplomats among others.

Gender: Women who are underrepresented in the movement in Ghana will be specifically targeted for inclusion. They will be essential/important to our efforts. Organization, facilitation, and involvement are a few of these functions.
Geographic: Youth from many parts of West Africa make up the institutions. There will be a lot of work put into making sure that underrepresented groups are represented. In addition, we will seek out young people from underrepresented communities to serve as editors and future organizers.
Ethnic/racial/religious or cultural background: The institutions constitutes people of different underrepresented religious and ethnic backgrounds.
Age: Young people will be included as contributors and, preferably, as future organizers. No prior Wikimedia knowledge is necessary in order to participate. By working with the LUCG Wikimedia Community, where the target audience is already engaged, as well as by putting out an open call for participation through particular communication channels including posters, social media, and the SRC, we expect to engage these individuals.
By our one-on-one mentoring program, which guarantees participants' ongoing involvement in Wikimedia activities, we hope to keep participants. With the Outreach Dashboard, we also keep track of community members' contributions in order to reward the top contributors who continue to contribute beyond the events.

We will ensure that we include a friendly space policy in our form for participants who intend to participate in our activities. All forms of harassment will not be tolerated.
