Local
- Q2. If you have answered regional or international, please write the country names and any other information that is useful for understanding your proposal.
- R. If you would like, please share any websites or social media accounts that your group or organization has.
- 1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.
Redlink is assigned to a topic or biography in need which is not existing on Wikipedia. This project is aimed at sorting out and creating such articles needed from redlinks which are identified in different articles on Hausa Wikipedia. These project will thus reduce the number of redlinks on Hausa Wikipedia Pages and as well fill the gap for such articles on demand, being marked with redlinks.
- 2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.
I have organized Wikipedia awareness in Zaria before and registered a number of newbies. This project will engage these newbies in an editathon that will inspire them to keep contributing to Wikipedia. A list of articles in redlink will be drawn and participants will be guided on how to create those articles or translate if available on English Wikipedia.
- 3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?
- We will organise two in-person trainings, and an online training on Zoom. The online training will serve as an introduction to the project and some basic approaches like Redlinks and links meanings and significance on Wikipedia. Why Redlinks are created, and how to create such needed articles.
- An editathon will commence immediately after the training.
