In light of the prevalent issues surrounding plagiarism worldwide, there is an urgent necessity to raise awareness, provide training, and educate both existing and new editors on Wikimedia platforms regarding the organization's stance on plagiarism. Our initiative aims to address this need through a multifaceted approach. We intend to organize both physical and online events, including an edit-a-thon, to launch the campaign. The edit-a-thon will serve as a platform for participants to contribute to Wikimedia projects while simultaneously receiving guidance on identifying and avoiding plagiarism.
Additionally, online training sessions will be conducted to reach a broader audience, ensuring that individuals who cannot attend physical events are still equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills.
Furthermore, we will introduce participants to Plagiarism tools such as Turnitin, Grammarly and Copyscape which are widely used in academic institutions with vast database of academic content and internet sources.
- 7. What are the planned activities? (required) Please provide a list of main activities. You can also add a link to the public page for your project where details about your project can be found. Alternatively, you can upload a timeline document. When the activities include partnerships, include details about your partners and planned partnerships.
