Wiki Loves Africa aims to increase the representation of Africa’s cultures, traditions, and everyday life on Wikimedia Commons, addressing the lack of freely available media about the continent. Challenges: Limited Awareness: Many are unaware of Wikimedia platforms and how to contribute, leading to underrepresentation. Access to Tools: Lack of internet, equipment, and skills makes creating and uploading quality media difficult. Sustained Engagement: Participants often disengage after competitions due to limited ongoing support and opportunities.
