- 1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.
Language is the most important mean of human communication, through which people exchange thoughts and achieve mutual understanding. If communicating people speak the same language, then communication takes place directly. But when people speak different languages,direct communication becomes impossible. In this case, the translation comes for help, i.e. transfer thoughts of one language using another language.The purpose of this project is to explore the peculiarities of Wikipedia scientific Articles translation and to suggest ways to improve the understanding of These Articles .Consequently, translation is an important auxiliary tool for ensuring that the language fulfils its communicative function when people express their thoughts in different languages. It also plays a large part in the exchanging of thoughts between different people and serves the cause of spreading knowledge and culture. The need for translation in various spheres of human activity, such as science in Wikipedia wil constantly increases in the world. In connection with the development of scientific knowledge and the increase in the volume of information exchange.
- 2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.
The main approaches that's will be used to achieve the desire goals in this project is by providing accurate and clear information to the reader. This task will also be achieved by substantiating the Actual logically, without the use of emotionally colored words, expressions and grammatical constructions. This characteristics given are inherent in scientific Articles. furthermore Content Translation tool which allows editors to create translations right next to the original article and automates the boring steps will be employed. The project will also used Scientific research approach in translation of these articles which relies on precision to ensure that the integrity of the findings is maintained. Another strategy that will be employed is borrowing. Borrowing is a common translation technique by using a word or phrase adopted from one language into another. It means that the translator will makes a conscious choice to use the same word in the target text as it is found in the source text. Most of the students will prefer to use borrowing to translate articles, however, the choice of the borrowing is often.
- 3. What are the activities you will be developing and delivering as part of these approaches or strategies?
The project will organize two days workshop which will equip the participants with the practical knowledge on how to create new articles translate and also edit the existing ones about science on hausa language Wikipedia project. in particular participants will
- 1.create and improved Articles on hausa Wikipedia
- 2.take and upload photos on Wikipedia commons
- 3.Each participants would work on specific scientific articles that could be proposed by participants itself or discussed with trainers.

Yes I hosted the first education program in Hausa community As a scientist researcher and also a wikipedia editor with experienced in organizing an event I will served as trainer during the events I'll also be inviting two resource persons from colleges.

We are inviting any student who has a curiosity or passion about addressing scientific translation to come and be inspired, share, learn, and collaborate on capturing the student perspective on the scientific translation of Articles in Wikipedia we're going to follow up with the participants by
- 1.Printing promotional materials related to the project explaining what the project is and how we're building it as volunteers
- 2. We're going to send post and after events questionare and and will also closely followed up participants through social media channels group one on one meeting emails and also through Wikipedia events dashboard.

we will adhere to the wikipedia friendly space policy during the events and we will make sure we have a good materials to assist participants.
