1. What is the change that you are trying to bring about and why is this important.

It's estimate that only 20% of women articles have pictures in Wikipedia and a very very less of this percentage have photos in Hausa Wikipedia.

We want to bring women inclusion in the whole Wikipedia movement, and when women faces are missing are missing in the movement that's a lot of space to cover for women inclusion in the movement.

Thus this project will seek to a change that will modified that. Trying to provide 100 photos to 100 women articles and more in Hausa Wikipedia.

2. Describe your main approaches or strategies to achieve these changes and why you think they will be effective.

Our prior approach to this project is organizing a photowalk to educational and political institutions in the country in other to be able to get and provide all the necessary photos of those amazing women and link it to their articles.

Me and the other volunteers mentioned above will be engaged in a photo walk

5. Do you have the team that is needed to implement this proposal?

1.Abubakar Yusuf Gusau, Alameen Khalid200 and I will be in charge of snapping pictures across the political institutions.

2. Me, Sanusi Gado will be in charge of carrying out the entire process of organizing the photowalk
3. Me and uncle bash will be in charge of taking pictures of educational institutions.

And we will all be in charge of organization, coordinating, and carrying out the photowalk together.

This work is trying to bridge and bring women along in the women and even in the online world in general.

1. The target of this work is for Hausa Wikipedia editors. To revive and makes them aware of women inclusion and it's importance and also to bring and engaged them on writing and photo upload about women as possible as this project can.


We will follow up with them, by keeping in touch with them via WhatsApp.

We will also used a strategy from the experience of leaders of Hausa community in giving them exercise in other to show them the right direction to edit and stayed in the movement.

1. I wish to learn how to better bridge women gap in the movement

And also how to well the editors can utilize the number of women photos available.

I also want to change the statistics so that women will feel represented and included also.
