- Presented a 5 minute presentation online that was recorded for public.
Photo challenge in NYC & Chicago
- Uploaded 71 photos to WikiCommons taken by project affiliated photographers and the public (in response to our Juneteenth challenge).

- Started planning for future photo challenges
Broadened online meet-ups
- We are working to create return editors and cull existing editors for a usergroup
- Met with 9 editors online, 15 have expressed interest but scheduling has been challenging. Editors with a range of experience meet to learn new skills and discuss the project.

- at Bridge Books on Commissioner St in Johannesburg’s City Central
- Our hotspots were crucial as their internet was not working.
- at Bridge Books in Maboneng, Johannesburg
- Issue of access came up multiple times, folks who want to participate may not have computers, internet nor training. Would like to focus on this next visit.
- Would like to somehow make sure local experienced editors are in attendance every time (none came).
Continued to fine-tuned budget
- In the process of identifying how many hours each position is actually using
Attended Wikimania 2018
- Attended Whose Knowledge preconference
- Successfully facilitated a “full” BLT roundtable discussion with Wikimedians, recording their reflection on the state of Wikimedia. This will be included in our dynamic, searchable online archive.
- Made our first in person connections with Wikimedians from the African continent and larger diaspora who will potentially ally for our future endeavours
- Learned much more about what is happening in different places with different projects in Wikimedia movement
- Learned about potential tools we may use for addressing lack of access, metrics, language diversity, addressing gaps, work in academia, using Wikidata with Wikipedia, and sustainability.
- Met with members of the Foundation to reflect and plan to meet for training in the future.
Continued online editing training
- Interest is strong but arranging timing is still a challenge.
- Hosting both new editors mixed with editors who are ready for a next level is challenging in the online meetup.
- Next month we will launch an Outreach Dashboard tracking of these users edits in case that might be useful
- Next month we will announce our plan to host a static date for our online meetup and maybe add one night to total two meetups a month in hopes this will be easier for the arrangement of time.
