Request changes
editWe understand that sometimes plans change. Please use this button to request approval for changes to your grant’s budget while your project is in progress. Any variation of 20% or more to any line item in your budget must be approved by staff here before you make the change (for projects with budgets of $15,000 or more, the accepted variance is 10%).
Budget change request
editI would like to change "Management, strategy, and lookup tool development" from $10,000 to $15,000 (less the $5,000 that has already been disbursed) and "Citation extraction tool development and other code development work as needed" from $10,000 to $5,000. As my original co-grantee is no longer with the project, I request the funds be disbursed to me for subcontracting.
I would like to set as the final budget $5,000 for "management, strategy, and lookup tool development," and $0 for "citation extraction tool development and other code development work as needed" for a total grant value of $5,000, with the remaining $15,000 returned.
Rationale
editThis change would have me working full time on the project for the remaining three months while having a contractor work part time on citation extraction for three months. This change reflects the evolving needs of the project, as well as identification of existing work in this area. While there already is a lot of code for extracting citations from Wikipedia, requiring only some adjustments, the other pieces of the puzzle that I've devised need more work, including infrastructure and reference recommendation. I working full time on this would be more efficient than trying to transfer large portions of the project to the other person, since I already have an understanding of what specifically is needed. harej (talk) 00:25, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
As I was hired by the Wikimedia Foundation in June 2017, I am no longer eligible for grants.
