To create a space and promote an equitable inclusion for the members of Nigeria language Wikimedia community ( Igbo and Igala) and Ghanaian language wikimedia communities (Gurene) to encourage collaborative and digital universality. This iteration of the Movement Charter Conversation in the West African region, will be a collaborative effort that would aid in engaging and informing these community members about movement charter and its contents, educating them on the details of the Movement’s governance. With a focus on the 4th Recommendation, Initiative 24, the conversation would be channeled towards sharing insights on the Movement Charter and Equity in Decision making. This would go a long way to keep them abreast and well informed on the WMF governance documentation and how their voices can be heard.

Initiative 24 - Equity in Decision Making - This would ensure that both members of these Wikimedia communities and the newly joined members are educated and well-informed about the Movement Charter document and its entireties. It would also enlighten them on MS Initiative 24, on how, when and where to share their perspectives as well.

Are you collaborating with other communities or affiliates on this project? Please provide details of how partners intend to work together to achieve the project goal.
Yes, the Nigerian Igbo and Igala Wikimedians Community MC Ambassadors will be collaborating with the Gurene, Dagaare, Dagbani and Moore Wikimedia community all from Ghana to implement this project. The essence of this collaboration is to ensure and to encourage the collaborative efforts in knowledge sharing and cross-cultural practices that would aid in ensuring there's a balance in knowledge and information across these Wikimedia communities.
What specific challenge will your project be aiming to solve? And what opportunities do you plan to take advantage of to solve the problem?
This project seeks to dissect the intricacies of Movement Charter and Movement Strategy Initiative - No. 24 to the members of these Wikimedians community who weren't able to join in the conversation during the previous sessions. It is observed that without a close and grassroot conversation as this, these members are oblivious to the documentation of the Movement Charter. They know not how, when and where to add/share their thoughts with regards to how they see the activities of the movement and how it affects them. And just as stated above, to them, Movement Charter and Movement Strategy are two different hard nuts that need to be cracked. It is also observed that the Igala and Gurene, Dagaare, Dagbani and Moore languages are yet to gain much visibility on the different wiki projects, including the meta pages.

What specific activities will be carried out during this project? Please describe the specific activities that will be carried out during this project.
This conversation would be implemented in 4 modes - 1 General Online Conversation; 1 Online session for the Nigeria and Ghana Communities, respectively and 1 general concluding session. An extensive conversation and Q & A session will be carried out during these 4 meetings to ensure that everyone is well informed about the Movement Charter and how Equity in decision making can become a reality and implemented.

Who will be responsible for delivering on this project and what are their roles and responsibilities?
Iwuala Lucy (Nigerian Coordinator) - Responsible for the major activities of the project, including receiving the grants funds, writing the grants report, and coordinating between the other collaborators.

Dnshitobu (Ghanaian Coordinator) - Responsible for the major activities of the project in the Gurene community, including receiving the grants funds on behalf of the community, writing the grants report, and coordinating between the other collaborators. And also facilitates online session.

Akwugo (Online Trainer) - Facilitate the online sessions that would take place. Create relevant Meta pages for the project. Source and curate different untranslated Meta Pages for translation

Onwuka Glory (Documentation) - Note taking and drafting out the outcome and feedback of the various sessions. Keeping tabs of various documents needed and used for the project

Ogalihillary (Communication) - Responsible for communicating and keeping the community members well informed with regards the timeline and activities surrounding the project. Draft Special Invites to community stakeholders, graphics and designs

Alhassan Mohammed Awal (Communication) - Responsible for communicating and keeping the community members well informed with regards the timeline and activities surrounding the project. Draft Special Invites to community stakeholders, graphics and designs in the Ghana Community.

After your activities are complete, we would like to understand the draft implementation plan for your community. You will be required to prepare a document detailing this plan around a movement strategy initiative. This report can be prepared through Meta-wiki using the Share your results button on this page. This project will encourage community engagement, Sensitizing new Community members and those who have not been reached since the conception of the movement Strategy program is a great idea. This initiative will ensure equity in decision making. However, translating the movement charter pages to Igala and Gurene languages is another inclusive measure to include these Communities. I strongly support this initiative.
