Goals

edit

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?

Despite COVID-19 and Artsakh war, we met our goal and had art and feminism workshops, edit-a-thons and meetups during the whole year. I would proudly say that the project had success in Armenia.

We planned to have 2 offline meetups, but because of unforseen difficulties our plan-action was changed, though we succeed to have both online and offline meetups with artists and feminists, learning classes, ediathons, museums workshops and museum tours. We organizeed a Wiki-dojo during one of our Zoom meetups and created an article about a woman artist. We also experienced same wiki-dojo in Wikidata which gave additional impetus to editors. For new editors I had individual online classes, such as with a volunteer from Tavoush Branch of Artists' Union.
ArtandFeminism 2020 Campain brought into Armeian Wikipedia articles on Women Biographies (atists, feminists), artists and feminist organizations, books, films, artworks. Art+Feminism // Armenia Facebook page was created where all the events and information was piled.

  1. Art+Feminism 2020 page in Armenian Wikipedia
  2. An interview where I talked about Wikipedia, mentioning the importance of bringing women related artcles into Wikipedia, as well as ArtandFeminism Campaign
  3. Articles created or Edited

Learning

edit

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

The long period of the campaign gave us the opportunity to work with different cultural organizations, with individual artists, with civil servants and with editors of different ages

  • What did not work so well?

Because of pandamic we could not involve many people for offline meetups and had to reject many registered editors.

  • What would you do differently next time?

Involve more wiki mentors, take more time for institutions which are far from capital city since there is so much to explain to newcomers, to explore in archives and physical catalogues.
