Kano state is one of the important states in northern Nigeria. It is regarded as the commercial city of the region. And one of the oldest historical Hausa state. There are historical sites in the state including the new created four Emirates councils. This photowalks aim at taking images of the various historical places and upload them into commons, In order to promote and improve the quality of Wikimedia projects contents.

5 Photowalk with 5 editors each

2. What kind of content will the walks focus on? Why is this topic a priority?

The focus on taking fictures of architectural building, monuments, landmark and nature reserve in the city of Kano and other four Emirates councils of the Kano state. They include these but with more Ancient Kano City Walls, Bayero University Kano, Kano Emirate Council, w:Bichi Emirate, Rano Emirate, Karaye Emirate, Gaya Emirate, Kano Meseum, Gidan Rumfa, Great Mosque of Kano, Kano State Polytechnic, Maitama Sule University, Kurmi Market, Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano Pillars Stadium, Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano State House of Assembly, KUST Wudil, w:Watari Dam, Challawa Dam, Tiga Dam, Triumph, Roman Catholic Diocese of Kano

3. What is the plan to ensure images will be used on Wikimedia projects?

Different Photowalk with 5 Professional photographers and editors. Editathon will take place at the hotel after Photowalk to upload all the images to Commons.

4. Do participants have the equipment or skills needed to participate and contribute high quality content? If not, how will you support them?

Yes this project will help to increase articles with the lack of images of Kano state as well as Northern Nigeria
