Goals

edit

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went? This was my first experience with Wikimedia grant and the first time in my career that I received a grant. Therefore I am quite happy to have achieved the goal of training 40 participants among university students, local associations members and independents writers.

Outcome

edit

Please report on your original project targets. Please be sure to review and provide metrics required for Rapid Grants. Please report on your original project targets. We had three meetings. I felt forced to work with two groups. The first group was composed by 24 independent volunteer writers gathered into a whatsApp group. In the live training event only 11 turned up. Unfortunately, this group did not write any article. After three weeks, they were not active neither I the group nor in the dashboards. I had to contact another group. This time only composed of University Students who attend courses related to Language, Literature, and Arts. A total of 36 students who participated in two virtual events.

Learning

edit

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

  • What worked well?

Two main things went all in this project. Number one the University students gad their first opportunity to write in their local language and in Portuguese Language. The second thing that went well is the some of the students showed intered in continuing to work with cinema content to document biographies of actors, directors and the films because they found out little information is available

  • What did not work so well?

I desperate sometimes during the project execution, when the first group that we had created ended up failing to publish article even after three weeks. I was expecting that each participant could publish more that article but the second group had but 15 days to learn and publish articles.

  • What would you do differently next time?

Next time, I would right away work with language, arts and literature students from the university because they have passion, potential to write in four languages (English, Portuguese, French and Emakhuwa).
