Learning
editProjects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:
- What worked well?
- Everything was fine except for a couple of issues. Members of different communities have helped us tremendously. All the local organizers and jury members were the lifeblood of our success. The whole process has been completed quite successfully with their active cooperation.
- Thanks to the WMF for their support. I can't help but mention David in particular! Thanks to him for always being by our side in every time of troubles.
- What did not work so well?
- The biggest problem was bringing funds to Bangladesh. Although in the end we were able to solve it. In project management we took the help of Fountain tool. At the very last moment, we had to suffer a lot due to technical faults of it for a few hours. However there were some other minor issues that we do not feel the need to mention here.
- What would you do differently next time?
- We look forward to working on the Wiki Loves Children project globally within the next couple of months this year. We hope that the foundation will come forward in our cooperation considering the problems of the past. This may be due to resolving the issue of sending/bringing funds in Bangladesh or by arranging a fiscal sponsor again.

Anything else
editAnything else you want to share about your project?
- Bringing funds to Bangladesh was deadly challenging. Just because of this one, the light of our whole project has faded a bit. This issue was finally resolved through the fiscal sponsor. But it can not be a permanent solution. I hope the Foundation will work to find a lasting solution to this problem. We want to facilitate the path of Wiki Loves Children, as various communities have already expressed their willingness to participate in this project.
