Goals

Did you meet your goals? Are you happy with how the project went?

We met our big goal of getting more student attendance. We had mostly students at our event and 23 editors total. In our initial sign-up survey, we had 25 registrants; 9 were students and 7 were faculty. We had 12 students in attendance at the event and 4 faculty. In past events, most registrants and attendees were library staff, so we consider this a big success even though we did not meet our goal for 30 attendees. We are very pleased with how this event went and we will follow many of the same steps we took for our next event.

30 participants	23 participants	While we did not reach our total participants goals, we did have more students attend (12), which was one of our main objectives. We had 25 people register and 23 people attend; some of the attendees did not originally register. This is also the most people total we've had attend an editathon event. Perhaps 30 was just too ambitious a number.
15 new editors	16 new editors	In a survey of the room during the event, the majority of attendees were new editors (16).
10 articles edited	27 articles edited	According to our dashboard data, our participants improved 27 articles, added 46 references and 4,600 words, and contributed 74 total edits.

Learning

Projects do not always go according to plan. Sharing what you learned can help you and others plan similar projects in the future. Help the movement learn from your experience by answering the following questions:

• What worked well? Serving food that appeals to students drew more student interest. We also increased our outreach to faculty and students through more academic departments. Because we expanded the editathon topics to include women in any field, we had more interest from more academic department faculty, who then passed the information on to their students. Additionally, we start the event later to ensure that visitors to campus could get free parking.
• What did not work so well? We have played with different timeframes for our editathons, between 2-4 hours, and I think 2 hours was too short.
• What would you do differently next time? I would extend the time to 3 hours so there is more time for discussion.

Finances

Grant funds spent

Please describe how much grant money you spent for approved expenses, and tell us what you spent it on.

We ended up receiving $115 from Art+Feminism, and we needed to utilize and distribute funds from both grants to meet all of our funding needs. I am presenting expenses for both grants so that you can see where expenses listed as needed for this grant were purchased with the other grant fund.

We spent the rapid grant money from WMF for the following:

Willy's taco bar for refreshments = $360.76 VistaPrint banner for evergreen promotion of editathons at Emory University = $133.80 VistaPrint banner design consultation = $5.00 TOTAL = $498.80

We used the Art+Feminism funds for the remaining expenses, which included:

Gift cards for raffle prize = $50 Raffle tickets = $10.41 Wikipedia Store swag = $43.96 TOTAL = $104.37

Remaining funds have been used or will be used for other approved mission-aligned activities. This use has been requested in writing and approved by WMF.

There's not much left (just $1.20), so we won't keep it.
