Project Plan
editActivities
editTell us how you'll carry out your project. Be sure to answer the following questions:
1. What is your promotion plan?
You can produce an animation video to promote a Wikimedia project and promote it by using ads on Twitter. You can promote an online campaign, such as Wiki Loves Monuments, by producing an interview video and promoting it on Facebook, Twitter, etc., using ads.
- We will be producing four videos that will create awareness about COVID-19 which will be revolving around Wikimedia Projects. The videos will help in increasing awareness about the pandemic and reduce the stress among people caused due to fake news spreading at an alarming rate. The four videos will highlight the reliable news on COVID-19 available on Wikipedia and also Commons, where people can get a virtual tour to beautiful places in this lockdown period where people are quarantined in their homes. The video will give tasks to the viewers where they will have to make a video answering questions like how they gather or used to gather information on COVID-19, how Wikimedia helped in gaining factual information and how learning on Wikipedia helped them dealing with the issues. We believe this task will make the campaign more interactive. We will be boosting the videos produced through social media platforms. We will also publish viewers generated videos sent to us on similar platforms. The entire event remains online and no in-person activities will be conducted considering the safety measures.
2. How will you let your community know about the promotion campaign?
Please paste links below to where relevant communities have been notified of your proposal, and to any other relevant community discussions.
- {{Main Page/WM News}}
- Telegram and WhatsApp groups
- Social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
- MassMessage, bulk sms and emails
3.Do you have any experience in online promotion or video production?
Were you involved in a similar project in the past? Do you have any other experience in producing videos or multimedia files?
- No,we will be experimenting around video production and online promotion focusing on availability of reliable information related to COVID-19 meanwhile promoting Wikimedia projects.
4. Do you or others in your team have the skills needed to manage the video production and promotional campaign?
Do you already have a team and specific roles assigned to people based on tasks such as scriptwriting, direction, cinematography, etc.?
- Yes, we have a team equipped with the skills needed to manage video production and promotional campaigns.
5. What’s your post promotion plan?
What do you plan to do after your campaign ends?
- Well, the video promotional campaign would be followed by a task. The task would be to make a video regarding how the people gather information regarding COVID-19 which will be followed by how Wikimedia helped in gaining reliable information related to Covid-19 and how it's helping them deal with it. And, we will be promoting such viewers generated videos through our social media platforms.
6. Is there anything else you want to tell us about this project?
- This project will be the first of its kind in this pandemic that will promote Wikipedia and increase public awareness about COVID-19 at the same time. Tulsi Bhagat has brought this amazing idea while brainstorming for organizing the online campaign in this pandemic for tackling the fake news spreading on news and social media.
